I create vibrant, colorful abstract paintings in acrylic that are inspired by my study and embrace of spiritual teachings. My work is a reflection of the energy and beauty that surrounds us every moment, both seen and unseen, that which is within and without. (see About the Artist)
Color shape and line come together in exciting ways when I am inspired both visually and musically and by the energy that flows in the universe and connects us all. When the thinking mind becomes still, spaciousness appears and the energy of these elements takes on a life of its own.

The universe and its myriad of galaxies have always inspired me to think beyond the everyday known reality to the infinitude of stars and galaxies. As Joni Mitchell sang, "We are stardust..." and so we are connected to this greater, unseen reality.

The beauty of place moves me to capture its essence and energy. My love of travel has taken me across the northwest and southwest with my photographer husband. There is nothing like a moment in time and space that takes your breath away. These landscapes explore the spirit of place rather than portraying a purely representational image.

Embrace Impermanence. Walking on the beach is a meditation on Impermanence. Ephemeral….momentary…evanescence…fleeting …the impermanence of things. Impermanence is a principle of harmony. When we don’t struggle against it, we are in harmony with reality, in harmony with all things.

In the past year, I have been experimenting with how paint and metal work together. It is quite a different experience than canvas, and allows me to play with the hard surface and the reflective quality of metal. I'm working on expanding the series in both quantity and scale as metal is a unique and exciting material to work with. The subject matter will also expand my interest and work in cosmological phenomenon, the universe we live in and are part of.
